World Air Services will open a regional aircraft maintenance and
repair operation at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
(CVG), and add up to 300 new jobs, the company announced Monday.
The Kenton County Airport Board and Pemco agreed on a 15-year lease
for a hangar previously occupied by Mesaba Airlines. The deal is
dependent on approval of state and local incentives as well.
Pemco said it expects to begin operating in the hangar by the end of
summer.
"CVG is an excellent, centrally located airport served by many of the
nation's leading regional carriers," said Wake Smith, CEO of Dothan,
Ala.-based Pemco, in the release. "We are eager to get this hangar
humming again so we can offer these carriers top-quality maintenance
services."
